Escapees

The alarms are buzzing
two patients are missing
the magnets are broken
the orderly boys are chasing
the kids can taste liberation
freedom fuels their fleeing
the ones left behind scream in their minds
Run! Run! Run! Run!
the police have been called
they'll use their dogs
in their escapism
we are all glory eyed

They tuck themselves by a river bed
"Kiss me, I'm so cold," she says
he lands his lips his hands they grope
long suppressed love is made
their up again, running again
hearts elated, hand in hand
against the sirens against the dogs
against the thoughts of
security in asylum
they pound the pavement
to a place he knows that's safe
at least what's safe to them

Their figures caught in a spot
cop cast shadows against the fence
the boy he's cunning as fuck
drops his voice to say
"Go, baby. I'll meet you there.
Don't worry. I got this,
Their dogs are slow-minded.
These pig's are nim-wits."
She runs away
only to hide
the siren's start, her ear's bleed
red and blue oscillations leave

She moves on
to the place
where he said they'd meet up
there's a man on the doorstep
he beckons to her discreetly
she approaches wearily
"Have you seen him?"
"No we haven't."
He leads her in
and down the stairs
to a circle of
youngjunkysouls

He's being
handcuffed but
before he got
caught he
fought like he might
die

She's being
fixed up
taught it doesn't
matter it
doesn't matter

either
way you
look at
it they are
caught--
